Keto Bourbon Peach Cocktail

Our Keto Bourbon Peach Cocktail is a fruity and fun summer low carb drink. It is so refreshing and so easy to make. Our version is similar to a “smash” in that it contains ingredients that are commonly muddled in preparing the cocktail. We also top it with the fizz of club soda. You could use diet ginger ale or diet ginger beer, as well. That is also typical with a “smash” cocktail. Just remember that the “smash” refers to the muddling technique and not the result of having too many of these cocktails!

However, instead of muddling fresh mint and fresh peaches, we use Torani Sugar Free Peach Syrup and just one drop of mint extract. With that touch of mint infused in the cocktail you will be reminded of our delicious Mint Julep recipe. Of course, if you prefer fresh mint and fresh mulled peaches, go for it. The peaches will add carbs whereas the Torani Peach syrup would have none.

The key ingredient is a top quality Kentucky Bourbon. We like Knob Creek, but choose your favorite. They will have zero carbs and add the kick to this classic drink recipe. There is something especially tasty when you pair bourbon with peach flavor. On top of that, just a drop of mint extract will provide a mint julep style taste. Just go lightly on the mint extract. We suggest using an eye dropper and start with one drop per drink (recipe below makes two drinks).

Torani Peach Syrup

We like to use water enhancers for many of our tropical drinks. They will give you even less carbs per drink. However the Torani sugar-free syrups really add that color and enhanced taste for Tasty Low Carb cocktails.

In addition, the clean peachy taste comes from Torani Sugar Free Peach Syrup. Torani Sugar Free Syrups are wonderful. They add so much flavor and with zero carbs. They are sweetened with liquid Sucralose. This is the same sweetener used in EZ-Sweetz Drops. We use that for a lot of our recipes and with no “after taste” it is a product you should have in your Keto pantry.

You can also get a handy Three-pack of Torani Sugar-free Syrups containing Strawberry, Raspberry, and Peach. Get all three and experiment with all types of Margarita and Daiquiri cocktails. We have previously posted one of our favorites using Mango and Strawberry sugar-free syrups – Keto Strawberry Mango Daiquiri.

You can muddle mint leaves in the syrups before adding the other ingredients. You can even use 6 mint leaves in 6 ounces of bourbon sealed in a mason jar for 8 hours to infuse the mint flavor. This works great, but you can make it easy by simply adding one drop of Spearmint Extract before shaking. Make sure you use spearmint extract and not peppermint. Again, we would recommend using an eye dropper. If you add too much mint, it will overpower the drink. You can also eliminate the mint and still have a tasty peach cocktail.

Preparation Tips

The recipe calls for a “simple syrup.” This is typically made by boiling a mixture of 1 cup sugar and 1 cup distilled water. Once the sugar dissolves you have a sweet syrup for drink recipes. Since sugar is a NO-NO, substitute with 1 1/4 cups of Allulose instead of the sugar. Adding 1/8 teaspoon of Xanthan Gum once the Allulose is dissolved will provide a thickened syrup.

This recipe is light and really an eye-opener. When we first made the concoction we were thinking about our Low Carb Mint Julep post. But, this one is unique. The peach flavor is pronounced, and topped off with club soda it has more of a spritzer taste. For folks who would call this a “smash,” remember, we have eliminated the muddling of peaches and mint leaves. The spearmint extract is perfect, and so refreshing.
