Keto Raspberry Gimlet Cocktail

Keto Raspberry Gimlet Cocktail is not just a low-carb version of a classic Gin Cocktail. It is just as smooth as the original! Think of a combination of sweet raspberries with tart lime juice and you get the idea. It is low carb, with only 1g of carbs per drink. Do you remember those raspberry popsicles you enjoyed as a child? Likewise, that is the taste of this delicious cocktail. We think this is the perfect way to introduce a “Doubting Thomas” to the wonderful world of Gin.

The raspberries and raspberry syrup will make this drink pop! Some folks will infuse fresh raspberries in Gin for three days to get the same effect. We have seen recipes where bloggers actually use a raspberry puree or even raspberry preserves in their Gimlet. You could try using frozen raspberries and ice and blend this recipe into a frozen Keto Raspberry Gimlet Cocktail. However, we like the lightness of our recipe and just a hint of raspberry and lime blended together.

Ingredients

A top-notch Gin is essential for a top-notch Gimlet. A lot of folks prefer Beefeater London Dry Gin or Tanqueray London Dry. We have used both and they are wonderful. However, lately we have been using Bombay Sapphire Gin for our gin drinks. It is very smooth and adds to the traditional juniper berries with 9 assorted botanicals. We use it for our Low Carb Blue Martini Cocktail and also in our Keto Long Island Iced Tea Cocktail.

The classic Gimlet is 2 parts Gin and 1 part Lime Juice (use fresh). It was originally made as a way for sailors to avoid scurvy when sailing in the New World. Today, it is simply a delicious light cocktail.

Our cocktail adds to the theme of the classic Gimlet with a simple syrup to lighten the tartness of the lime juice. In addition, we absolutely love the raspberry flavor blended in this drink.

In addition to fresh raspberries, we use Torani’s Sugar-free Raspberry Syrup for additional raspberry flavor and coloring. It does not add any carbs and it is delicious. Actually, you can make the drink even easier by skipping the process of muddling fresh raspberries. Simply add a little more of the delicious syrup. An additional teaspoon should do the trick. Then, drop a few raspberries in for garnish.

We have used Torani syrups for a number of our cocktails. Our Keto Peach Bourbon Cocktail is delicious. You might also want to try Torani’s Sugar-free Peach Syrup or Torani’s Sugar-free Strawberry Syrup with vodka and enjoy a Vodka Gimlet.

Tasty Low Carb Simple Syrup

You will need a simple syrup for this recipe. Try our basic Tasty Low Carb sugar-free simple syrup. The recipe is quite simple. One and 1/4 cups of Allulose and a cup of distilled water boiled on the stove top until the sweetener is dissolved. Stir in a pinch of Xanthan Gum (until dissolved) and let it cool in a Mason Jar. The Xanthan Gum will give the mixture a syrupy texture. You can find these products below.

Preparation Tips

Our recipe calls for muddling fresh raspberries in the bottom of your shaker with the simple syrup. Effectively, you are infusing the sweet syrup with raspberry flavoring. You will then have to use a strainer for the finished drink. The fresh raspberry taste is very nice; however, since you will be using Torani Sugar-free Raspberry Syrup, you may want to skip the muddling and just add an extra teaspoon of Torani.

Either way, make sure you use a chilled martini glass and shake the drink in a shaker filled with ice, as well. Chill your martini glass by filling it full of ice for a couple of minutes prior to making your Keto Raspberry Gimlet Cocktail. Discard the ice. In addition, you can refrigerate your martini glasses for a couple hours before making a drink. You can top with a slice of lime or a raspberry on the rim of the glass. Finally, drop a few raspberries in the drink. Just, get ready for a delicious taste!
